New Government Policy: Our Way Or The Highway at HUD
So, how does democracy work? How does nepotism or a dictatorship work? Alphonso Jackson, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), says it works like this:
If you don’t support the president, you don’t get a contract. Mr Jackson spoke at a meeting of minority real estate people in Dallas and said, "He didn't get the contract. Why should I reward someone who doesn't like the president, so they can use funds to try to campaign against the president? Logic says they don't get the contract. That's the way I believe."
At least he was upfront about it. Strictly a political gig, that’s all: play the game the way we tell you to play or you can’t play the game.
