Another CIA Honcho Falls

Another Bush-buddy has bailed out, according to Yahoo news. It’s probably a good thing, because the FBI is investigating whether or not Dusty Foggo, the Executive Director at the CIA, was involved in a major bribery scandal...with juicy side-bars of rumors about strip-poker, whores, and... no, no dope. Probably plenty of extensive booze, though.

Foggo has been responsible for the day-to-day running of the agency. His boss, Porter Goss, resigned Friday, amidst the tangle of rumors about corruption. I just love traditional values.

Meanwhile, another story, around somewhere, reports that Cheney and Rummy want the CIA put under the control of the Pentagon, giving the military an absolute stranglehold on intelligence agencies—and removing intelligence agencies from any congressional oversight.

The FBI is investigating whether the No. 3 official at the CIA improperly intervened in the award of contracts to a businessman who has been implicated in a congressional bribery scandal, a law enforcement official said Monday.

CIA Executive Director Kyle "Dusty" Foggo already was under investigation by the agency's inspector general in connection with his relationship to San Diego businessman Brent Wilkes.

The FBI recently opened its own probe of Foggo, a longtime and close friend of Wilkes, the official said, speaking only on condition of anonymity because the investigation is under way.

Foggo has decided to retire from the CIA***
